how does mass delete show which matches to keep/delete?

is there any attempt to "choose wisely" when mass delete is used? In order words two files that are matched, one has a bit rate of 128 another 192 is this taken into account (better one kept)? Or is this recognized as a "difference" that results in a "POSSIBLE MATCH" - this requiring manual review?
