Problem Scanning art work in to Perfect Tunes

In the midst of ripping my CD collection (newbie) and I am starting to clean up the artwork and metadata. Perfect Tunes-Album Art opens a dialogue box to import a cd cover from my scanner. Oddly, I am not able to change resolution or scan type. I am able to do a prescan, which I then crop to the right size. When I hit start, the program freezes. Any suggestions? Thanks,

    Cass

P.S. I am working in Windows 10 and the scanner is a Brother MFC-9970CDW.

Does the scanner work with other programs?

Thanks for the quick response. The scanner works fine with other programs.

So when you click start to scan, the scanning dialog freezes? and it does not even start the scan?

When I hit start (with and without doing a prescan), the scanner starts but then seems to freeze when it is attempting to embed the image.

Well, this is weird. After hitting start, the scanner dialogue box stays open and the "spinner" spins. Now, when I manually close it (which I was doing before also), it is capturing and embedding the album cover. I will keep playing around with it.
