start with fresh metadata, most likely not needed but when going through this several times to test & write down the steps i did it each time, most likely you can start 6 lines down where it says "now open id tags"
open perfecttunes
open accuraterip, go to options, disable "use accuraterip result from id tag"
close accuratelib, add a few directories to your library in perfecttunes, click "clear database cache"
open accuraterip, it should now reparse all your files to create a new crc and recheck them online
close accuraterip
now open id tags
select "browse by metadata", "order by sort tags"
now drill down, for example "artist / album", then open an album so you can see the file details. if you now add or remove a field all current values will go blank. you need to go back to artist / album scren ; then reopen the album to get it to update.
there is however even stranger behaviour (which is why i looked into it in the first place).
close your id tags application, reopen it, and while in "browse by files & folders" - "album edit mode", just go the a folder containnig an album, it doesn't even need to be indexed. when the file metadata shows up in the right windop, repeat the previous steps:
* select "browse by metadata", "order by sort tags"
* now drill down, for example "artist / album", then open an album (but a different one as the one you selected in album edit mode).
when you now add or remove a field instead of not showing anything it will show the album you have selected in album edit mode.
i'll see if i can add 3 screenshots to illustrate.
