A couple of uses cases, looking for input or perhaps enhancement request

    Hello,

I use PerfectTUNES on a large library of 145,000 files (~10,000 albums) and it has greatly helped identify inconsistencies. The illustrate team has implemented several of my suggestions into the product and appreciate their support.

Below are some additional capabilities I would like to see. If there are suggestions to address without enhancement certainly open to them.

Background for first few enhancements: The ability to exclude an album from AccurateRip has worked well and was a feature I specifically requested. However, a few minor tweaks would optimize this feature further.
    1. From AccurateRip section: A bulk select of albums in the metadata categories to allow Exclude/Restore album in the comparison would be helpful. An alternative to this would be to simply run a user initiated one-time check on "Excluded from AccurateRip" albums against AccurateRip to see if any are now recognized. While I normally only exclude items I am pretty certain will never show up in your database, would like to check these every so often. The process of clicking one album at a time to restore and re-exclude is very time consuming such that I really never recheck.
    2. From AccurateRip section: For a number of albums that are downloaded from various digital sources they often get marked as length of album is different than original. I tend to mark these as "exclude" but would like to have a separate category for digitally sourced. This would allow easy separation of actual physical CD to digital rip comparisons from digitally sourced redbook downloads that I think are most likely accurate.
    3. From ID Tags section: In the sort resorts could there be an option to have tracks with sort metadata at the top of window? Versus scrolling through to check to see if any exist.
    4. From ID Tags section: This one was previously requested so wanted to mention it again - the consistency checks occur within a single category of metadata - ie Artists doesn't compare to Composers. Ideally the checks would be done across Artists, Album Artists, and Composers. Other cross categories matches don't really make sense.
    5. From ID Tags section: When inconsistencies are noted there is some decision made by PerfectTUNES to which is the correct value to recommend. Sometimes I don't agree with that choice but there is not an easy way to choose to not change in fact replicate my choice to all files. I often have to note manually what was recommended, search for that value, and manually change it to the match I want. Could consider a 2nd column to keep value and update all files to that value?
    6. From ID Tags section: In the search box it would be great if you could use RegEx expressions. Suspect this is somewhat of a big lift to consider.
    Thank you for considering.

    One more I forgot:
    • From AccurateRip section: Under Albums Cannot Check I have an album that says "Cannot Check: Incomplete Album" - I have verified the CD is accurate and all tracks are ripped. It is possible to get more info of how many tracks are expected?

Will check through those suggestions when working on the various programs.

The last item, it is track count and track number, if have 1/5 then there has to be 2/5 3/5 4/5 5/5

Good insight - Indeed one of the 14 tracks had a wrong track sum. That resolved this one album. Thanks!
