PerfectTunes corrupting M4A files on a NAS (WD) running on Mac OS

Hi all - I've noticed tonight that PerfectTunes is damaging M4A files on my NAS when updating album art. I copied an album from my iTunes Media library (using the Finder) onto the NAS. All good, files all play, except it loses the album art in the process (it keeps the tags). If I try and add the album art back in with PerfectTunes the chances are I will get some good and some corrupt M4A's on the NAS as a direct result, which no longer play. I've been able to reproduce this a number of times now. The same thing doesn't happen if I copy the files to the NAS (they lose album art), copy them back to the SSD on my Mac and then run PerfectTunes to fix the album art on the SSD. Result is good files with album art, that still play.

I suspect I've got quite a lot of corrupt M4A's on the NAS now, having earlier run PerfectTunes against everything on it. It's not a big deal, I've got backups, but it would be good to know if I'm doing something dumb or whether this is a bug.

We do not have to write different code to interact with a NAS, it is a type of file storage, the results of changing art on the NAS or a local SSD drive should always be 100% identical, 100% of the time, unless there is an issue with the NAS.

Now you have described how the album art is vanishing also when the file is copied to the NAS, if you copy the file to the NAS and then back to the PC, it has to be 100% the same as before the copy, otherwise what is the point of having a nas if it is changing files in a incorrect way?
