Greetings:
I've been using PerfectTUNES (PT) for years now and it has helped me deduplicate my collection. Unfortunately, my music collection is massive (500K+), so it continues to be a very manual process of looking at a few folders at a time, so I'm wondering if any of the following are possible, and if not, could they be considered as a feature request:
I've been using PerfectTUNES (PT) for years now and it has helped me deduplicate my collection. Unfortunately, my music collection is massive (500K+), so it continues to be a very manual process of looking at a few folders at a time, so I'm wondering if any of the following are possible, and if not, could they be considered as a feature request:
- Point PT at a folder and have it only return results where there's a lower-bitrate song similar/same as a higher bit-rate ones. For example, I'd like to just have it return songs in a FLAC container that match against MP3s.
- Similarly, I'd like to point PT at two folders and have it only search songs from the first folder that are the same/similar to those in the second. In other words, just limiting the scope to the first folder so I can tackle things in a more reasonable fashion.
- Only return results that are Certain Matches. In that way, I can focus on these, first, and then work my way through the possibles after I get them cleaned up.
- It would be great if PT could detect "fake" FLAC files. Specifically, I've purchased some digital downloads from bands and even established sites that were simply transcoded MP3s (cymbals are dead giveaway) or songs offered as high definition that were simply CD rips encoded at 24/96.
