What does 'Write AccurateRip Tags' Do? Why does it fix my AccurateRip results?

So I just purchased DBPoweramp along with perfect tunes, and I'm running into a weird unexpected behavior.

I have several CDs, which I've ripped that have 1 or 2 tracks that are sometimes inaccurate and insecure, or inaccurate and secure. When I run PerfectTunes > AccuarateRip, it shows that these albums have errors. However, after I click the ... and 'Write AccurateRip Tags' these albums no longer report any issues. Is that expected behavior? I'm not expecting the PerfectTunes AccurateRip to actually fix the issues so is it just writing the tags and saying these tracks are accurate when in reality they are not?

Basically I'm trying to get the best rips, and not just cover up any inaccurate tracks. Much thanks appreciated

Have you tried using CUETools to repair the rip? The ability to repair a rip depends on a number of factors including the number of rips processed, so whilst it may not always be possible it's worth a shot.

There are some basic instuctions and a couple of screenshots in this post that show how to configure the interface.

For that album yes. I’ll have to check the other albums to see if it happens to only the last track.

Do you want the zip of the files before or after, or both?

Just DMed you the dropbox link to the album before and after

I did the `Write AccurateRip Tags` to another album that had an error on track 5/11, and it did NOT show up as 11 tracks Accurate afterwards

For another CD, I believe it was also the last track that had the errors that went away, but I need to find the disc again and re-rip it to see if it happens again

You likely need R2024-5-30 to verify that album when ripping:

Release 2022-08-09 Windows 11 added native shell menus [Windows} Album art manual search extra sources Better upgrade process, dBpoweramp Control Centre keeps track of your order number and is able to auto-download updates Added Wavpack DSD handling ALAC fixed buffer overrun bug Ogg Vorbis and FLAC: can read an album

Install that one and try to rip that disc again.

I installed R2024-5-30 on my other newer laptop. Ripped the disc again and the last track on the disc was Inaccurate (24), but when I ran PerfectTunes > AccurateRip and did 'Write AccurateRip Tags' it shows the entire album as AccurateRip again.

                  Thanks for the bug report.
The problem appears to be on CD Ripper side, writing incorrect CRC tags, which are then used by PerfectTUNES to skip scanning whole file, speeding the process up significantly.
The ripper bug is being investigated and will be addressed shortly.
In meanwhile, here's new PerfectTUNES build with mitigation for this:

It detects this specific scenario and performs full file scan instead of trusting tags.
