any way to re-scan meta data?

I ripped a bunch of music for my father last year using batch ripper, and I have a problem...

Many of my dad's albums are collections, and when they got ripped it incorrectly assigned the 'Track Artist' to the 'Album Artist' tag, so for most software they look like different albums. So, he has a ton of albums with the same name but with only on song in them.

Before I start re-ripping all them all over again and paying closer attention, is there any way to use perfectTUNES to help correct some of this?

why not just use the batch ID Tag processing tools of dbpa or of mp3tag to correct metadata (move items from one field to another, copy from file names, etc. etc.). No need to rerip to fix metadata as long as you have some indication in the file of the data that you can manipulate. Or wait until PerfectTunes adds its metadata processing and use that.

Yea, I know I can use tag processing tools to manually fix things up. I was just wondering if there was a better (read more automated) process that can be used to correct this sort of thing?

The automated process will be the new and improved perfecttunes. If there's enough data buried in the Album name, filenames, etc., mp3tag can also "almost" automate fixing the tags with its various convert options, ACTIONS, regex expressions, etc.

ok, thanks. I think in my case it might not help me. I think much of my dad's music is a mess right now, probably with incorrect tags. I may just re-rip
