    dBpowerAMP Music Converter (dMC)

when trying to rip cd I get the following errorr message

"The file 'D:\Track05.cda' could not be opened.
Read Table of Contents failed - audio disc in drive?"
I cannot play the cd on the dBplayer. I have reinstalled all the software.

Is this only a single track on a particular CD or is this a problem with a number of tracks and/or a number of CDs?

Anyway, try opening this CD in Audio CD Input.
Click on the arrow by the Options button.
    Select Standard CD Emulation.
If this is checked, uncheck it. If it is unchecked, check it.
Exit and re-open Audio CD Input (this step may not be necessary).
    See if things work now.

    Best wishes,
    Bill

Bill, thanks for reply, done as you suggested but no luck. problem is on all tracks and on all discs. System worked fine until about a week ago. This problem appears to coincide with the installation of Audacity (could there be a connection? The system also looks for a connection to accuraterip even thought I have unticked the necessary boxes in the CD audio input.
      regards
      John

Options - click advanced next to the CD drive selection and set the Comunication to Windows Internal (Limited).

            What about "2000/NT Built-In (Limited)"?

The names of the communication sets changed in dMC r11.5. If you don't have the new version, you should probably update. Version numbering is found at Start --> Programs --> dBpowerAMP Music Converter --> Configuration --> dMC Configuration
