msvcrt.dll is the Microsoft Visual C++ runtime dll. You are likely to have a Microsoft version (MS version) as well as other versions - well at least one more installed and used by dBpowerAmp/converter (dAP/dMC version).

Apparently if your MS version of msvcrt.dll is older than version 6..something, than the problem you describe might occur if MS decides that the dAP/dMC version is incompatible with the MS version.

You can try to fix this by updating your MS version of msvcrt.dll. I am not entirely certain, but you can read this: http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;259403

Or if you have Windows 98 (or even if you don't, if nothing else works) you could try and read through and download this: http://www.microsoft.com/windows98/d...es/Default.asp

What's your OS? W95 or W98 require some other installations: Windows 95 & 98 users check out System Update Page first

Are you using the DirectShow codec and filters with Real Alternative or the Real Media codec with Real Player?

It is just crashing because of inpropper use (the directshow ra plugin must be doing something it shouldn't).
