id tags don't transfer from wma to mp3

The id tags do not transfer from WMA to MP3 files. I have tried both V1 and v2 any suggestions? I am using the power amp as of Jan 12 2006.

Hold the mouse over the wma file, can dbpoweramp read the tag?

Yes, the half a dozen regular tags and half a dozen wm/xxx tags are shown when I mouse to the WMA file. PS - I'm using Windows XP if that helps.

OK - I tried it again on the same file, but changed the quality setting and switched the save id switch off then on - and now it works!
