    audio input

I am trying to use the dbpower cd audio input. I bring it up and choose options. Nothing comes up in the box where i can choose which cd drive to use. and I cannot type anything in.

I would like to know what I can do to remedy this?

    thank you,
    MaryLou

Have a look at Support >> Audio CD Input

especially the section on updating ASPI

      audio input

      Spoon,
I went to Support and checked the Aspi. It says to correctthe assign for the DC drive tothe next free drive. I don't understand this. my cd r/w is assigned to drive E, and my cd rom is assigned to Drive F. i have hard drives C and D.

now what do I do, and how would I assign it to a different drive.

when i checked for the aspi it said no host found. so i d/l the aspi 4.70 update and nothing changed.

      thanks,
      marylou

I would do a global search for these files:

            WNASPI32.dll; Winaspi.dll; APix.vxd; aspienum.vxd

delete them all, reboot, then install 4.70

Backup important things before hand, but Windows does not use ASPI for anything critical.

              Spoon,

Got your message and I am going to search for those files and delete them, reboot, then install 4.70.

              I will let you know

              thanks,

                Spoon,

I did all you said, and now when i start Windows, it says that I need the aspienum.vxd. Now how do I get that back?

audio input is still not working.

I have put some effort into ASPI, and have updated my page on it here:

Look again, there is a new 4.71 install, and should that fail a link to another web site that has good technical info on fixing it.

                    audio input

                    Hi Spoon,

Well, I finally got it working. I d/l the 4.71 and that did not work, then went to d/l the other one with all the aspi's and followed directions, dumped the files, then reinstalled, then rebotted and voila, the audo input works. It brings up the box for the cd drives perfectly.

I was determined to get this to work. Thank you very much for your help.
