    ogg won't work

I know that this might seem a silly question, but how do I convert ogg files to mp3s?
I downloaded and installed the codec, but the software won't recognize it for the decoding.
    Thank you for your help

    Re: ogg won't work

Did you download and install the standard Ogg vorbis codec?
That is the only one of the 3 codecs that will read Ogg vorbis files.

If you have downloaded and installed the standard ogg vorbis codec, can you check in your dMC configuration to confirm that it shows the codec as being installed. If it does not show up, this would suggest that the codec may not, in fact, be installed (or that it is not installed in the right spot).

If that is OK, then I would ask if you right-click on this file, do you get a Convert To option? If you do, that implies that dMC does recognize the file as being an audio file. If this is the case, try a test conversion (same as a regular conversion except that where you select mp3 aas your output format, select Test Conversion). If that doesn't work, then your problem is with the source file. Can you play it? Can you tell us what bitrate, frequency and channels it has? If the test conversion works, then your likely problem is with your mp3 settings. In that case, we would need both the information about your source file and the same information about the mp3 files you are trying to create.

    Best wishes,
    Bill

      Re: ogg won't work

Thank you very much for your super fast and detailed reply!
I tried reinstalling the 3 ogg codecs, paying attention to the location and then the shelled conversion ocption started to work. Probably I made a mistake installing the same codec twice and forgetting the regular conversion one.
      Thank you very much
