using dBpowerAMP on linux with wine

I've been searching high and low for a way to get my audible.com subscription to be usable under linux. I cannot burn CD's with the audible manager, and just about every audio capture software I can find won't run under wine.

dBpowerAMP will run, but it won't convert the .aa files to .mp3 files. This is so damn infuriating. If I don't use microsoft or other non-free (as in speech) software, I can't listen to music (m4p) and audio books (aa) files that I #$%@ing paid for. It's way past time for the legislative or judiciary branches of our government to put the RIAA in check. This DRM crap is seriously getting rediculous.. I paid for it, let me listen to it!

Sorry, just needed to get that out of my system.

Ok, so the bottom line is that dBpowerAMP converter will run fine, but following the instructions for converting aa files gives me an error about the codec (DirectShow) not being loadable or some such.

Anyone manage to get this working under wine??

    Thanks

Right, DirectShow is not loadable in Linux. Can you even play the files? If you can, I'm sure there's some program that will let you record what your outputting, or output what's playing to a file.

Won't JHymn run in Linux? Yea, it doesn't work with iTunes 6 yet, but it works with the older versions.
