    Codec installation problems

    Hi everybody out there!

I installed the PowerAmp Converter, but when i try to install codecs as m4a, wma, ogg or any other i get a failure message that a problem during the installation has occured (translated from german) and the installation fails. I don't have the slightest clue what the reason for this might be.... but i do hope somebody here can help me!
    Thanks in advance,
    RainbowPhoenix

    Re: Codec installation problems

Are you signed in as administrator?

Did you install to the default foder as proposed by the prorgram, c:\Program Files\Illustrate\dBpowerAMP ?

Are you sure your downloads of the programs worked and are not corrupted? Maybe a firewall is messing things up?

What OS and browser are you using?

      Re: Codec installation problems

Make sure your installation path doesn't contain non-ASCII characters, as this might be what is breaking the installation.

Also, did you install the codecs and dBpowerAMP Music Converter to the same directory?

        Re: Codec installation problems

if you installed dmc to someplace other than default.. when browsing to the new path select the 'illustrate' folder, NOT the 'dbpoweramp' folder.

when done correctly the install path will be:
        x:\whatever\blah\illustrate\dbpoweramp

if you select the dbpoweramp folder:
        x:\whatever\blah\illustrate\dbpoweramp\dbpoweramp
        ^^ obviously wrong

check where the path is before you click 'ok'

** makes me wonder why the installers dont auto detect where dmc is installed to **
