    Codec to aacPlus?

My new mobile kan play aacPlus, and i've heart that aacPlus only is about 1/3 of a MP3. I've looked in "Codec Central" but i can't find any to aacPlus. Is there really no codec to aacPlus, or have i just missed it while i searched?

    Re: Codec to aacPlus?

Winamp Pro comes with AACPlus encoder technology, but there are alternatives, including the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack, but that comes with 3rd party software, aka spyware, so don't go for that. Essentially, you're left with one alternative, Winamp Pro. That is the only spyware-free solution that I know of that has AACPlus encoding.

But in all honesty, why not just stick with regular AAC encoding? FAAC is pretty good...

Since when does the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack some with spyware? Its just the Full codec pack, plus Real Alternative and Quick Time Alternative.

Edit: Also, Winamp Full has AACPlus encoding support up to 128kbps.

        Re: Codec to aacPlus?

Thanks for the answers guys. I have Winamp (the free version) but it can only convert to aacPlus from a CD, and not just files on the harddisk. But i've found af freeware program who has the samme codec as in Winamp. MediaCoder http://www.rarewares.org/mediacoder/...oder-0.3.2.exe But it have a problem. When i takes these settings on the picture there comes an error http://img431.imageshack.us/img431/6...iacoder3cq.jpg. If i takes stereo instead of paramereic stereo there's no problem. Can anybody help, or is there no difference between stereo and parametric stereo anyway?

Parametric stereo only works on bitrates up to 48Kbps. I've tried Mediacoder and found that I simply didn't trust it. Too many errors - either the software needs to be tested much more or (at least as likely) I'm doing things that seem logical but aren't. Personally I'll be using Nero itself to encode until Spoon writes an update that allows the Music Converter to call to Nero 7 directly.

Some of Nokia's new N-phones will be able to play a musicformat Nokia calls eAAC+. Is that the same as aacPlus?

From my research at the Nokia website, it looks to me as if eAAC+ is different from aacPlus, although I may be wrong. Opinions, people?

K-Lite doesn't have spyware? Ok, maybe you're right, but how about a huge hog of my system resources? :(

And yes, Winamp Full has aacPlus support, but it can only go up to 128kbps, which is pitiful (by my standards at least), so that is why I mentioned that you should get Winamp Pro to get the most out of aacPlus.

Finally, I would like to make one last statement: If you want to convert your MP3's or WMA's, or whatever format to aacPlus, you can always use Nero to create an Audio CD ISO image, mount that to a virtual drive via Alcohol 120% / Alcohol 62% or Daemon Tools, and then use Winamp Full/Pro to rip the audio from the mounted image to aacPlus (which Winamp Full/Pro will think is an actual CD in one of your CD drives), and then be happy from there.

              Hope this info helped.

Spoon, Could you kindly support via a CODEC for dMC the new AACPLUS (v1 and v2) for audio file conversion using the new WinAMP 5.1 enc_aacplus.dll encoding/decoding DLL library file? There is a a new CLI using this WinAMP DLL out that encodes files from WAV format to AACPLus v2 (or v1) .aac formats. Having the ability to use

Use Nero 5 to create an Image. It's in this window.

After that, mount that image to a Virtual Drive in Alcohol.

Note that to get that CD image to display in the top portion of the Alcohol window, you must drag the image you created in Nero to C:\Documents and Settings\(your username)\My Documents\Alcohol 120%

Then use dMC Audio CD Input to rip those songs from your mounted CD and have fun from there.

                    Hope this info helped.

sounds like extra work to me, since we can encode to aac+sbr with dbpoweramp from pretty much everything anyways

                      http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?t=8774 <- update, works nicer now :D

I think there will go almost a month before my parents drives to Germany and buy some CD's for me
(they're so expensive here in Denmark) So i think i'll try gameplaya15143's way here http://free.hostdepartment.com/g/gam...cplus4dmc.html. I just have one question. Where can i get the aac/mp4/m4a plugin? (sorry these question's, but i just started at this hole codec-thing)
