Multi-Encoder - rip to two folders?

I managed to install and use the beta multi-encoder to rip a lossless and MP3 file from a CD, however I have not found the folder option that I am looking for.

I would like it to use a Music_directory/artist/album/ structure, but different Music_directories for the lossless and MP3 files.

Is there anyway to do this without manually setting the directory for each encoding? I was hoping to rip a bunch of CD's in a row and was hoping to have it as automated as possible...

    Thanks.

Yes. You set the file paths as options for your conversion settings for each format.

When you open a file in dMC and select the Multi-Encoder codec (or if you oopen a cd in Audio CD Input and select the Multi-Encoder) you either select one of the codecs displayed in the Compression Settings Window and edit it or (if you are adding a new format for your output click on Add Encoder. Then in the Multi-Encoder window you will select your format, your file path and compression setting FOR THAT ONE format, click on OK, then select your add your next format likewise. If you were doing more than 2 formats at once, continue until you have the outputs set up as you want.

    Hope this clears things up.
    Best wishes,
    Bill

Just to clarify the path you enter on each multi-encoder codec setting is within a main path, ie your main path might be:

      c:\some folder

      and codec 1 is codec1\
and codec 2 is set to codec2\

Re: Multi-Encoder - rip to two folders?

        Somewhere I am going wrong.

I edit the multi-encoder and below the compression settings edit there is a Save to Location with two options, "Set by dbpowerAMP Music Converter" and there is a "Folder" option. I used the Folder option and in puts all of the files for that encoder in the folder, but it does not create an Artist/Album directory, it just loads them in the main music folder.

Perhaps my original question was not phrased well, or perhaps I am still missing where I can set the path, and still have it create an Artist/Album folder for each album.

        Appreciate any help, thanks.

Leave it on Set by dbpoweramp...

then in the section at the bottom of the page, just before the filename type:

          another folder\

I got it to write to the two directories, if they are both under one main directory.

Still cannot get it to creat and \Artist\Album path for each CD. It just creates the songs in the main folder.

Do I specify somewhere that I want folders for Artist and Album?

I do have the location "Set by dbpoweramp converter..."

Re: Multi-Encoder - rip to two folders?

This is getting pretty funny. I thought I had figured it out.

I set the File creation to [artist]\[album]\[title]
Set my "rip to folder" to the root directory of a my server drive
Set each of the multiencoders (wma and MP3) to "Set by Dbpower Amp" for flie location, and then in the file name area I specified the WMA and MP3 Directories on the server. (Filename: /MP3/ ... original file name.extension)

              What I get is:
              \\drive\artist\album\WMA\title.wma and
              \\drive\artist\album\MP3\title.mp3

              What I want is:
              \\drive\WMA\artist\album\title.wma
              \\drive\MP3\artist\album\title.mp3

Can I use the [artist]/[album] in the filename area of the multiencoder section?

              I may try that...

Re: Multi-Encoder - rip to two folders?

Nope, if I try the above it creates directories named [artist] and [album] literally, not the artist name and album name. If that had worked, the location of the directories are fine, just the names did not get converted to the real artist and album...

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am obviously making this more difficult than it should be...

                  I wouldn't think it's possible.

The file name mask (including it's relative path created from tag informaiton of artists, etc.) is set by the converter through a rule which you have defined and it has to apply to all conversions done in that session.

The location for the output is also predefined as drive\folder path\ and applies to all conversions done in that sesson. Nothign variable there.

Unless the file type is itself an element of tag information, I don't see how you can make it part of the file name mask.

You'd probably have finished quicker by doing two batch conversions: one to wma and one to mp3. :D
