Can someone tell me if this product will RiP music from Profesional mixtapes which do not have any pauses between the tracks (that one second gap). I would like to comvert all of my mixtapes to MP3's but I do not want the 1 second gap between tracks. All of the Ripers I have use at present will give you a 1 second gap when you rip mixtapes. This will not hapen on regular cd's because they are seperate by the tracks. There are no track seperation on mixtapes. ex DJ clue, Greenlantern, & Smoth Denali mixtape CD's.

Re: Mixtape MP3 qusestion
As LtData suggests, you could use the ""Rip As One" feature to eliminate gaps, although you will also only have a single gapless track.
I know that mp3 creates a slight gap at the end of each track, although I don't know whether the gap is a full second. There is an exception to this rule, however. That is to use the Blade mp3 codec (available at Codec Central, tab at top of page). Blade is supposed to be gapless, although in other respects it does not rate as well as the Lame codec.

Re: Mixtape MP3 qusestion
are you talking about ripping or burning?
if ripping.. you rip to one track, then use an audio editor to seperate the individual tracks.
if burning, burn in disk-at-once mode, then there will be no gap between tracks (each song will flow into the next)Comment

Re: Mixtape MP3 qusestion
we are talking about ripping. I already have a program that will burn cd's with no skips inbetween tracks it's gapless just like the original. I was woundering If a MP3 file can do that. What is a Lamb codec is it something I have to buy will it make the mp3 gapless.Comment

Re: Mixtape MP3 qusestion

Mp3 files can be burned to blank CDs as a "data disk", "audio data disk", "mp3 audio disk" or other similar term (the terminology varies from program to program.
There are several different Mp3 codecs (routines for reading and/or writing mp3 files) around. Lame is the preferred mp3 encoder codec for dBpowerAMP products, for most of our users and for many other programs.
Mp3 tracks will have very slight gaps at the end of each file. The one reported exception to this rule is the Blade mp3 codec. The Blade codec reportedly does not insert this slight gap.
Some players that play mp3 tracks (whether burned to disk or saved in memory) will still feature a 2 second gap on playback. Other players can play mp3 files either with only the very slight gap that is standard or can play them gaplessly.
So in looking at your needs, you should consider the situations in which you will be trying to access these files and play them wthout gaps because your player will also be a factor if you are trying to achieve truly gapless playback.
If your idea is to rip tracks to mp3 and reconvert them to gapless CD, you might want to consider the Blade codec although you might not find the very slight gap from other mp3 codecs a problem. If it is, you could also consider trimming the mp3 file possibly using the Trim or Remove Silence DSP effects when you reconvert the mp3 file to wave for burning or you could use a wave editor program to remove any gap. The Lame codec and the DSP Effects are all part of the Power Pack which is what you pay for if you register dBpowerAMP Music Converter. The Power Pack also features other useful options and/or controls for dBpowerAMP Music COnverter and other dBpowerAMP programs.
Hope this helps.
