    5.1 24 bit setup?

I saw a msg about how to setup to convert music to 24 bit but darned if
i can find using the search, i get no hits on DSP either.

Anyone know where this bit (no pun) of information is located?

Will the search routine work if only 3 leters is entered??

    thanks,
    savagcl

No. Search requires 4 letters although "." as in ".mp3" will work whereas mp3 won't.

Do you have a 24 bit sound card?

Lt Data posted a recent thread asking about this here:
I just did a little experimenting and discovered that many media players (WMP, Winamp, Media Player Classic) all upmix stereo audio to play on all the channels of my 5.1 speakers. However, dAP does not do this, at least not with my current settings. Is there someway to enable this?

    Best wishes,
    Bill

One other tip (for those not onto this): Regarding your search, you can use "" marks to search for phrases so whereas "5.1" is too short to be searched " "5.1 channel" " will yield results.

        xoas,

        Thanks for the search tips...

Yes, i have the Creative Audigy 2 ZS with the front panel (Altho there was
some question earlier as to wether it was a "true" 24-bit card or not).
I have some previous music created as 24-bit (via the dbConverter) and it will
only play using the creative player, sounds great! I have forgotten the DSP
        sequence needed to create them.

Winamp and the dbPlayer only puts out noise if i try to play using them.

        thanks,
