I believe there is a menu over the part of the lower right hand corner of the main dCW window where you tell it what type of files to display. Do you have this set on something other than "all audio files", "all files", or "mp3"?

        xoas,

        You're right!
I had it set to .mp3 (which all the files in that folder is).
When i set it to "all", it worked fine.

Guess its a bug. Maybe should post for spoon to see.

        Thank you, a bunch!

Hmmm, it should work. It works for me.

All I see that's a bit iffy there, is that I have 2 .mp3 occurrences in the drop down list. This may be coming from having both lame and mp3pro codecs probably.

I guess it lists extensions according to the codecs we have installed.

            Works for me also.
I do note that there are several other extensions other than mp3 that are read as mp3 including .mpg, .mpga, .mp2, .mp1, .mpx and .snd. It could be that although these are read and seemingly recognized as .mp3 files by one or the other other (or both) of the .mp3 decoders, that they will not show up on the menu unless you select "all" for file types or unless you select the proper extension.

I also note the duplicate file extension listings. If there were circumstances where you needed to use a specific decoder the duplicate listings are still less than entirely useful because only the file extension is displayed, not the codec. If the codec does not matter then I don't see why you need multiple listings..

            Best wishes,
            Bill

I guess it's a little oversight (ahem, euphemism for expediency which in turn may be an euphemism for a wee bit of ... laziness :D ). It's easier to just loop through all the codecs and list all the extensions that go with them in sequence, than to do that and also verify you didn't already list those same extensions and, if so, skip them.

Are you sure they had a .mp3 extension on those files?

Spoon, you know how CD Writer doesn't show the extension of the files it lists. It would be helpful if it did. Never mind the description appearing to the right of the file name.

All the files in the folder had an ".mp3" extension to them.
Altho none showed after clicking on the folder (in cdwriter), they showed
just fine after changing the selection to "all".

Ok, when you say all have an mp3 extension - do you mean you looked in Windows Explorer and saw the file names as abc.mp3 or you saw abc in the fila name columns and over in the type column you saw mp3 Format Sound?

If that's the case you should enable viewing file extensions for known file types in Tools/ Folder Options > View .

Your files may have been m3u files (i.e. meta files, playlists) instead of actual mp3 files.

                        Christina,

No, I mean i opened the folder thay contains the file and verified and, yes, i
can see the file extensions for every file in my pc.

                        An example:
When i open a folder (in this case, " ALJ" (for Al Jolson), I see:
                        ForMeAndMyGal-AL.mp3
                        ImLookingOverAFourLeafClover-AJ.mp3
                        etc, etc, etc.
