cannot convert .aa to mp3

I got this message:
The CODEC required to decompress '\\Donna\downloads\InterviewwithAnnaQuindlen_acelp 16_ebertdonna.aa' could not be opened.
DirectShow filter for '.aa' not installed, or Audio File Corrupt.

when attempting to convert an Audible file (.aa). I beleive the DirectShow filter is installed because when I select "files" the DirectShow .aa is part of my list. I have read the previous posts about problems with .aa file conversion (Joe & Barry) but I have no success.

I can covert with no problems. Follow the instructions in the post linked to by Lt Data.

I had to go back into the configuration and save it. I also had to uncheck and recheck the "Convert To" popup and save that so that Convert-To was added for AA files. Now it works great and fine.
