Re: New codec Lame 3.97.1
Spoon has said that he plans to update the codec when it gets out of beta. You can apparently do an update on your own.
See the following threads for details:
Spoon, now that 3.97 is official and replaces 3.96.1, are you going to update your program? I ask primarily becuase the dll does not allow us to use all of the cool new presets like -V 1 or -V 3, or at least I do not know how to. APS, APE and others are the only options. Some of these correspond to the new "V" system
Hi, I saw LAME was updated to version 3.90 and above already; where can I download this latest version? I can't find it anywhere on the dbpoweramp.com website or forum... Thanks, Wim
The last talks about the update process, the first notes some limitations as applied to 3.97, with a suggested work-around (seeming to involve command-line interface).
Best wishes,

Re: New codec Lame 3.97.1
Forgive me for not knowing the answer to this after much searching within the forum/site, but is this beta release available yet? I'd like to be able to take advantage of the latest recommended LAME release (currently 3.97 beta 2), which no longer uses the old alt-preset settings, but has moved to "-Vx" switches. I'm a registered dBp user but don't know the URL to access beta releases.Comment

Re: New codec Lame 3.97.1
Which beta are you refering to? To download beta versions of the dBpowerAMP programs you will need to visit the dBpowerAMP Beta forum.
As to obtaining the latest beta version of Lame I'm not sure where you can get a copy of that from.

Re: New codec Lame 3.97.1
Current estimates for the release of R12 beta1 seem to be in the range of 4 to 6 months. Initial release will almost certainly be noted both in the Beta section of the forum but also in the Latest News & Releases section of the forum. R12 is planned to include many major changes (you can see some of the details in this thread here:
http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?t=9480 ). So actual release may be quicker or slower than anticipated.
If you want to try installing the Lame 3.97.1 beta codec, I believe that one of the threads in my earlier post (Post 2 in this thread) has a link to a download site for these.
Best wishes,
