I downloaded the trial version of converter and when I tried to use it a window popped up and said your trial version has expired. This happened right after I downloaded it... So whats up??? Is this the way the company screws you by not letteng anyone actually try the program out before making them pay for it??? All my music is Itunes but my player wont play M4A and I want to try a program to see if it works before I spend/waste money on it!!! :thumbdown

It's supposed to play mp3, wma and wma drm. I got it to run (converter) after looking at another post but it does not read the Itunes m4a. So as of now i'm still stuck.

Re: trial
If you have never had dBpowerAMP Music Converter before, you may have run into a problem with the registration process if you didn't get your trial period with the Power Pack. We can set you up with a link about this (here:
http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/announce...nouncementid=8 ).
This will not affect your ability to deal with your iTunes m4a files. Here the issue is that those tracks are encoded with DRM (Digital Rights Management) measures (at least if these are tracks purchased from the iTunes download store). Even if you have figured out how to use another program to remove the DRM measures for legitimate personal use, every time you update iTunes you are getting new DRM measures thrown in and you have to wait until (and if) a countermeasure becomes available. For that you want to check the forum section on DRM and CD Copy Protection (here: http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/forumdisplay.php?f=52 ).
If you have ripped these files, especially if you have ripped them to Apple Lossless format, using iTunes 5, try the new m4a/mp4/Apple Lossless beta codec for iTunes 5 in the Beta section of the forum (here: http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?t=8950 ).
Best wishes,

Re: trial
Also, I hope you haven't downloaded iTunes 6, because at the moment, no DRM-removal tools work with protected files purchased via iTunes 6.
Also, to get dMC to decode unprotected mp4/m4a files, you need to install the m4a codec from Codec Central.Last edited by LtData; October 13, 2005, 05:15 PM.Comment
