yeah, I was able to capture a 60 second audio from a running winamp mp3 and play it back using Sound Recorder. It was saved as a .wav file .

Re: Cannot record from Auxiliary Input

Sound recorder only records to wav.
Here's some questions that might help:
      1. When you Open Auxilary Input, Click on Options, Select Input Source, click on File, select Properties-Are you set to adjust volume for Recording (this is what you want) or for Playback (this is NOT what you want, nor do you want Other)?
      2. What format settings are you trying to record your Flash file to (format, frequency, bitrate, channels, bits)?
      3. Are you trying to add any DSP effects?

I suspect your problem is most related to the first item, but this is speculation.
This would address the most important problem-why you don't get any sound through Auxilary Input.

It may also be the case, especially if you have an older, slower computer, that you will really want to convert to standard 16 bit wave format (which you can then convert).

      Best wishes,
      Bill

Nothing happens when I click the "Test Recording Level" button.

        My Volume Control window has

Wave : Mute check box *not* selected
Volume Control : Mute All check box *not* selected

SW Synth , CD Player , Microphone , Line In: Mute check box selected

I'm sure what the stmt means in "Make sure Volume Controls indicate your input that is enabled is either Stereo Mix or WAV" means WAV is not muted . Am I looking at the right places for configuration ?

        Recording Control Window has

Wave Out Mix : Selected for Recording.

        Is this correct ?
        What am I missing ?
There is your problem: you are looking at the Volume Controls for PLAYBACK instead of RECORDING.

The Mute buttons are in Playback. In Recording you have Select boxes.

When you open the Volume Controls, click Options and then click Recording from there. You will then see the recording panel. That's where you have to make your choice of input source.

You can get to the Volume controls from your task bar - rig th click the volume icon. Also from the options button in dMC Auxiliary Input and then Input Source. Once on that panel, click Options to make sure you are dealing with recording - and if not select recording from there. The proceed to select the actual source.

Yeah. I've given both recording and volume controls options in that post .
Just double checked again for the recording controls.
Still figuring what could be the problem..

Wow!!! It's with your 2. My quality had 24 bit all the while ( 44.1 KHz and Stereo ) .

I change it to 16 and boy! The test button works.. I guess it'll be a smooth ride from here.. Will check it in a while.. :smile2:

Thank you all very much. Will be back after a record my first file .

LOL, oops, I didn't read the whole thing. :o

OK, looks like the volume controls/input source are correct. The volume slider for your selected source should be about 1/2 to 2/3 of the way up. In some cases like with my (lousy) onboard soundcard it needs to be way down to avoid serious clipping.

The only other thing now is to make sure you're not using auto start and auto stop in dMC Auxiliary Input, and that you click the red record dot once only to start recording and then again at the end to stop recording. And in between you should see some sign of activity on the vu meter.

You'll have to juggle the various windows for bothe the player you use and dMC Auxilairy Input, as they tend to disappear under whatever else is opened.

Thanks for the excellent support. I've made my first recording from aux input.
