PowerAmp Site not what it used to be

I purchased "Power Pack & Mp3 Encoder License" but find that I cannot download the correct installation file. I just get error messages like "An Error Has Occurred You have no more download attempts left please contact your vendor" and the so-called "retrieval" link is useless.

The PowerAmp site used to be great until they got tied in with SWDIR and DOWNLOAD.COM. Now it's a convoluted mess.

Why don't they just have a simple email link for support purposes??

    Please read the announcements: http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/announce...nouncementid=8

As for why there isn't an e-mail link for support purposes, have you seen how many posts are in this forum? Having one person answer all of those e-mails could qualify under cruel and unusual punishment. Also, these forums allow other users (such as myself) that know a decent bit about the program help users that can't figure out what to do.

I see that I am not alone in having this problem. See
      http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?t=8026 .
What this amounts to is scatterbrain software and I repeat my remarks about SWDIR and DOWNLOAD.COM! :thumbdown

Download.com isn't related to the purchasing of the software.
Yes, many people have had problems downloading the software. As we have said before, a third-party is the ones that take you payment information, process it, and then send you an e-mail to the program you bought. Did you read the announcement both my post and the thread you mentioned link you to? At the bottom, it says to send an e-mail that is on http://www.dbpoweramp.com/email.htm with your order information. Did you do this?

Yes, I realise that SWDIR is the collector whilst DOWNLOAD.COM hosts the installer files but IMHO both of them are remiss. Neither of them are properly responsive and are user-unfriendly for the reasons I've already mentioned. The system just doesn't work. As for DOWNLOAD.COM they just don't give the option as to which version to download, the registered version or the unregistered version. (This situation reminds me of another company EASYDESK SOFTWARE with whom I have had similar circuitous problems. Both they and POWERAMP make excellent programnmes but they let themselves down when it comes to dealing with customers.)
:smile2: I shall try that email link (although it on the face of it it rules itself out of sorting these kinds of problems) to see what they say so thanks for that link.

You get the unregistered version right here, from the products page. The trial period applies to the use of the mp3 encoder and the features of the PowerPack.

The link for the registered version is right in the e-mail, which is vailid for a week or two. After that, you can click the "Registration" tab at the top of this page and click "Registered Link Retrieval" to get a new copy of your registered version. You just need your order number.

And I don't think Download.com holds registered versions of ANY programs that are pay/shareware, just trials. Would you rather Spoon spend time to write a purchasing system and take time away working on the dBpowerAMP products? Mabye eventually he'll decide to use a different system, but for now I think he's pretty happy with SWREG.

As for you stating earlier this is a recurring problem, that is due to either spam filters, overzelous firewalls or pop-up blockers, or sometimes different issues. That is why we have both an announcement in the dMC Support forum and a post in the dMC FAQ about it.

It isn't the unregistered version I'm on about!

The links that come in the email lead to nowhere except "An Error Has Occurred You have no more download attempts left please contact your vendor"
The other link - the retrieval link - at http://www.dbpoweramp.com/registration/ leads to "Sorry! The entered information is wrong! Feel free to try again"
And yes, I have taken on board your links, am using my correct email address, am submitting the correct order number to retrieval, and my firewall and my spam detector and other blockers are all A1 okay!

You meantioned not being given any choice of registered or unregisterd. So I said you get the unregistered version right here.

As for what you are having so much trouble following a link and performing the steps which are quite well documented, I have no idea other than your firewall is blocking certain things.

It's also possible you are blocking a site altogether (check your hosts file), or cookies or javascript or that you have any number of other security features that come into play all contributing to prevent you from doing all this.

Or you have plain not understood what you have to type in and where.

Re: PowerAmp Site not what it used to be

The registered link retrieval on this website takes about one week to get your purchase data into its system. At the bottom of the announcement I linked you two (http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/announce...nouncementid=8) and as I said above, send an e-mail to http://www.dbpoweramp.com/email.htm with your order number, name, and when you ordered it for a manual submission of a registered download link.
