Problems trying to convert to iTunes

I'm trying to use SVETA to convert FLAC files into m4a using the iTunes Codec and directing the resulting files to the iTunes Music directory (on a Windows PC). The conversion appears to process normally but at the end I get the Error message:

'Codec Error. Error creating iTunes instance'.

I can see that none of the files have been written to the iTunes Music folder. But, if I try it again, I am asked if I want to overwrite the file that should be there. Sveta seems to think that it has already converted the file, but it does not exist on my hard drive.

    Any help would be appreciated

What version of iTunes do you have?

I'm using iTunes 5, which I just installed. Additionally, I'm not sure that this is really a Sveta problem, since I'm using dBpowerAMP and specifying the iTunes directory rather than the iPod itself. Perhaps I should post in the dB forum?

Are your m4a files Apple's Lossless, or just normal m4a files?
It does seem the problem is with dMC, moving post to dMC Support.

First I would try converting to m4a (iTunes) without going near Sveta, try right click on file >> convert to >> m4a (iTunes).

I resolved the problem. I didn't realize that the tracks were being added to the top level iTunes directory rather than an artist/album folder and that I needed to tell iTunes to update in order for them to be recognized. As far as the original error, it hasn't happened again.
