Shall I tell you that it's a very silly idea to add audio background to email? :D
It's supposed to be at most a very short audio effect, not a full audio track.

Ok, so you still want to do it. Does it have to be wav? What kind of audio files can be used?

Let's say it's wav. Regular wav is huge - it's the biggest file size, corresponding to the actual audio from a cd for instance. It's going to be about 10MB for each minute of stereo audio.

For this to work at all the file has to be very, vey small.

You can use compressed wav rather than regular uncompressed wav. You have to select Compressed once you have chosen wav as the codec to convert to. From the options given by the Compressed button, pick Mpeg layer 3 and go through all the different options and see which one results in an acceptable size - say under 100K. Anything bigger is going to make the email too big. Forget stereo, pick mono. Don't expect full audio with surround sound :D

See here a discussion for a similar need involving adding audio to a PowerPoint presentation: http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthre...ght=powerpoint
