Was there not software provided with your phone to convert your files to ringtones?

M4a is a type of mp4 file. If necessary, I would think you could get by changing the file extension from .m4a to .mp4. What type of settings do you need for your mp4 file in terms of bits, channels, frequency and bitrates?

As LtData has suggested, if you have software that came with your phone or is downloadable from your cell phone manufacturer or cell phone service provider, you might be better off resorting to that.

      Best wishes,
      Bill
