Track deletion from iTunes after transcoding

Is it possible when using the iTunes encoder to transcode to AAC or Apple Lossless to change the settings so the tracks are not deleted from iTunes?

You would need access to the source code, I think the guy that wrote iTunesEncode lost the code...
