Sound recorder is a program in Start > Programs > Accessories > Entertainment. I would assume you are to record something through that. Where did you get those instructions from? What format did you convert your file to? Is that the format required by the phone?

Your next step then would be to get the file onto the phone, and that depends on the phone's capabilities.

See if you have this program on your HDD (Replace C:\Windows to where windows is installed on your computer): C:\windows\system32\sndrec32.exe Note that this is for XP.

IT would be a better codec / substitute for MIDI, and it's small filesize, like MIDI.

Check out this IT file (http://www.savefile.com/files/1163769). It's 3 minutes in length, sounds like an mp3, bitrate at 2000000 or something like that, has small file size, and plays in Winamp perfectly. Awesome alternative to MIDI.

Neil, he needs a MIDI file, not other file types.

                    Mikestar-
Did your phone come with any kind of software for creating ringtones?
If not, what is your model of cell phone, who is your cell phone service provider and where did you get your instructions?

                    Best wishes,
                    Bill
