    Cannot transfer MP3 files.

I seem to convert CD items into MP3 successfully but when I try to move them or copy them to an SD Memory disc I am unable to do so. Sometimes I get the message "Unable to move files as the address is too deep" and at others " "Cannot move due to I/O device error". What does all this mean? Can anyone help, please. I am, of course, running Windows XP (Home Edition).

Try moving the files to the root directory on the SD Memory card, mabye?

Thanks for your trouble. Does not work - no further forward. Any thoughts, anyone?

"Unable to move files as the address is too deep"
My impression of this message is that your file name for your files may be referencing more layers of structure than your SD card (or maybe your mp3 player) can support (or possibly the file path is longer than the program for transferring your files to your SD card can support).
Have you checked the documentation for your mp3 player about this?
Can you tell us how you have been trying to transfer your mp3 files to the SD disc?
What make/model mp3 player do you have?

        Best wishes,
        Bill

I assume all this is because your SD card gets used in an MP3 player of sorts, not simply as storage medium for files.

Do you have any mp3 files on your SD card which get found and played successfully in your player?

You may have to reformat the SD card to the player's specifications - best guess is use the player's own maanger - and then copy files over. See if it works with the player's manager program. Then see if it works with Sveta.

I have had the same problem. Only mine started once I downloaded the media rights manager from Microsoft in order to play some music I purchased. Now, I can't transfer anything ripped with anything other than the Windows media player. Even after uninstalling the media rights manager, I still can't transfer files. Let me know if you get a solution to your problem. I posted a thread on this as well.

According to NOKIA 6255i specs, it has only 8 Megs of memory. It is not inconceivable that two of your mp3 songs you were uploadnig to the phone take up more than that and therefore the phone says "memory is full". I have, at 128kbps, many mp3s that are larger than 8 Megs.

Never mind what Nokia says about how many songs the phone can hold - they probably make some ridiculous assumptions about a crappy kbps rate and/or about you having bought much more memory.

How large are the mp3 you are uploading to the phone? What kbps rate do they have? Compare the answer to the 8Megs memory your phone has. I guess what I am saying, not having the info, is that it is most likely to be a memory problem and not a software or cable or some other more obscure problem.

200 songs in 8MB? Are you sure you can't add a memory card of some sort to the phone? That is the only conceivable way you can hit 200 songs...
