    iPodLinux 32kHz .wav -> .mp3 conver. crashes

    Hi All-
I've searched this forum for an answer, but to no avail. I created a 5-minute-long .wav file, sampled at 32 kHz, in iPodLinux that plays fine within my iPod. But when I copy the file into Win XP SP2 and attempt a conversion to a Lame .mp3, dBpowerAMP ends abruptly and displays this message:

The file 'C:\Documents and Settings\user\Desktop\01011970 000203.wav' could not be opened.

How can I convert this .wav file to an .mp3?
    Cheers,
    Tom r.

Download the latest dMC beta linked to below, or do the following:
Convert your WAV to a 44100Hz WAV. Then, convert this wav file to mp3. The mp3 encoder in r11, not the beta r11.5rc2, is real particular about the formats and frequencies it accepts.

I think the problem is the type of wav file, hold the mouse over it and see what it says for Format: xxxx

        Hi All-

Thanks to LtData and Spoon for their posts.

LtData: What software could I run to change the sampling rate of my .wav file up to 44.1 kHz (I'm running Win XP SP2, iPodLinux and Solaris 10/intel)?

Recording the file again is not an option, unfortunately.

        Cheers,
        Tom

dMC does it. Just tell it to convert your file to a WAV and change the frequency to 44100Hz.

LtData: dMC produced the following error when trying to convert to 44.1 kHz .wav file-

The file 'C:\Documents and Settings\user\Desktop\01011970 000203.wav' could not be opened.

            Any suggestions?
            Cheers,
            Tom R.

Is "user" a power user or an administrator on that computer?

Was the program installed by "user"?
