    Bass box with poweramp

Hi there. I have a bass box connected up to my pc and I can't get it working. It was working with Windows media player but it does not work with power amp. My bass box is by Altec Lansing. Please could someone tell me how I can get my Bass Box working again. I tried again with WMP(windows) and it works fine. Cheers

    This is a speaker?
When you say it is not working with power amp, are you referring to dBpowerAMP Audio Player?
If so, I would recommend going to your soundcard controls and fiddling with the output. I have run into the reverse problem with WMP (its volume is usually way too low), so I suspect it handles output somewhat differently from other programs.
A little trial and error should get you straightened out.

    Best wishes,
    Bill

      Hi bill

Thanks. I will try that. Yes I mean the poweramp media player. I have a packard bell computer with a sound manager. All I can find on the output of my soundcard is S/PDIF tab and it only has these options. No Output. Digital only and Digital and Analogue. I will try these and if not get back to you. Cheers. Regards,Carl

Nope. That does not work and I have tried everything on my sound manager control window. Any more suggestions.

The Volume icon in the task bar (bottom right, near the clock) - right click > Open Volume Control > Options > Advanced settings > Playbak > Select everything from the pull down menu > OK.

If you don't have that icon there, I think you can enable it from Start > Settings > Control Panel > Sounds and Audio devices > Volume > check Place Volume icon in taskbar.

            Carl-
            2 Approaches:
            1. Can you get normal sounds from other programs (system sounds, games for example, or from other audio programs such as winamp)?
If you have headphones, can you plug them in and get sound from dAP?
Did your bass box have any special software associated with it? If so can you tell me what was involved.

            2. Open dAP. Start a file playing. Check the mute button (on the default skin it is a tiny loudspeaker icon next to the volume slider). If Mute is activate, turn it off. Check your volume setting. Check your EQ, turn it off if it is on or increase the boost setting.
If need be, open your dAP Options menu. Click on the Amp option. Is it set to DirectX or is it set to wave out? Whichever one it is set to, switch to the other select Configure and click on ok. If need be close dAP and re-open. Now do you get any sound?

I'd probably start with the 2nd set of interventions first.

Let us know how this works out.
            Best wishes,
            Bill
