Error while converting OGG into MP3

    Hello,

I'm having a small problem with dBpowerAMP; the problem lies in the OGG Vorbis codec, I assume.

Though I am not very experienced in these matters, I have used dBPA extensively for months, if not years. Now, after downloading a new version (and having all my codecs erased), when I try to convert from OGG to MP3 (I did this quite often using the older versions), a message pops up saying the Power Pack has expired, followed by an error message that states that the codec required to compress the file I wish to convert cannot be opened. Can anybody tell me what is going on? Is it because the Power Pack has expired?

    Thanks in advance.

There's nothing wrong with the ogg codec.

It is the PowerPack which is expired (or which you never acquired perhaps) which also contains the license for using the mp3 encoding codec. In earlier versions you did not need this license but new patent regulations have came into effect several months ago that require payument fro the use of the mp3 encoding codecs. This license has been bundled into the PowerPack which is available in the registered version of dBpowerAMP Music Converter.

If you ever did buy the PowerPack in the past, you need not repurchase it, but you have to register it properly, as it may have been uninstalled when you reinstalled the programs. You will need your original purchase details.
