Problems with R9a Can't Open Mp3 (Lame) Codec

I just installed R9a after uninstalling and earlier version of dMC.
When I click on Convert To in Explored I get a box with two Mp3 (Lame)s and one Wav choice when I choose either of the Mp3 (Lame)s I get the normal dialog box, but when I click the Convert button, a box pops up with this error message:
"The CODEC required to compress 'D:\WAV\clock.mp3.TEMP.mp3' could not be opened." What should I do?

Uninstall it - reboot, then install it again.

I unstalled, rebooted, and installed again - same problem. What should I try next?

As it's a temp directory I'd imagine its a hard drive.

D: is a harddrive. It's virtual, my physical drive is split between C: and D:

Try converting to a wave file - see if that works.

Conversion from mp3 to wav works fine.

                    Try this one then.

                    Start >> Run >> regedit.exe

                    browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Illustrate

and delete the key (folder) dBpowerAMP

Then try a conversion to mp3 (Lame) - do not change any of the options - if it works it is possibly because a combination of options on the lame setup page were selected that were incompatible. If it does not, it tells me lame is no go on yours and I will have to point you in the direction of an older version.
