    directshow codec (audible files) crashes

    Hi,
about half of my Audible files cause the dBpowerAMP to die in the middle of the conversion to any other format.
No error messages, it starts to convert the files and write a result file and then just dies away and leaves a broken result file and a few empty temp files (BK_something).
This happens using test conversion as well, and without any of the extra options turned on (normalize, preserve id tags etc). Changing the result file type does not help.
The audible files play fine using the same directshow filter in windows media player.

    Any ideas?

None sprint to mind, I don't think the bk_ files are anything to do with dbpoweramp.

Ok, found a solution (not the actual problem though).

The audible .aa format stores bookmark and placeholder information somewhere (possibly in the aa files themselves?) and in some instances this garbles dbPoweramp or the directshow plugin codec somehow. "Rewinding" the placeholder bookmarks to the beginning of the file does not help.

Solution: delete the .aa files, download them again from audible.com personal library. Convert them without listening. Works.
