help with cd ripping

Hi,When i go to rip cd`s my computer freezes.Has anyone got any idea as to whether it`s the program or my computer please. :cry:

A few questions:

Is this the first time you have attempted to rip CDs?
Can you rip using WMP?
Have you tried performing a test conversion?
What operating system are you using?
