Can't Preview Some CD's

Why can't I preview some CD's in dMC Audio Input.? I have the trial version of PowerPack installed and I really like the preview feature but it doesn't seem to like some of my CD's. When I press play all I get is stuttering. This happens on all tracks on the CD. I can rip them OK (with slow accurate rip enabled just to be sure). The discs are clean - no fingerprints or peanut butter. It's funny but I'm starting to think dMC doesn't like my taste in music. The discs that stutter are 70's pop (Bread, Supertramp, America) and are not remastered versions. If I play them in another app like Siren they play fine. dMC seems to like Radiohead and Tragically Hip just fine!

Any suggestions?

Perhaps for preview it has to keep starting and stopping the drive (to listen at x1 speed), when ripping the drive is just left spinning...
