Did you install as Administrator? Did you give yourself full access rights to the dMC install folder? Do you have access rights to the temp file location? Can you convert in an account that has administrator rights?

Well, then let your brother ask the questions. We cannot help you figure out your end of business.

Did you look in the C:\Converted Music Directory for the file?

No. C:\Converted Music is supposed to exist right from the point on of installing dBpowerAMP Music Converter. The fact that the folder doesn't exist raises an issue. At least, I think it is.

He most likely cannot create the C:\Converted Music folder in his limited account. Try redirecting the output to somewhere in your "My Documents" folder.

Hang on.... I've read and re-read this thread several times. Why do you need your brother to install it? Can't you let him make you an administrator? I mean, if it's family, who needs a "limited" account? I can understand the usage of using limited accounts in, say, a company, where if the limited user were suddenly given administrator privileges, there is a chance that the person will try to "leak" information from higher positions in the government. However, in a family, where is the purpose of using limited accounts? Everyone in a family that I know of who uses Windows XP all have Administrator accounts.

                    Re: I can't convert anything

Limited accounts are recommended for normal use. Why? Because if a person in a limited account gets a virus, spyware, etc. all it can do is affect that person's files. The spyware cannot be installed, the virus cannot wipe out system files, etc. If they were in an administrator-level account, the entire computer is infected or dead. THAT is the reason many peopl are given limited accounts. The only people that need admin accounts are those that install things or change system settings. And most of that can be taken care of by adjusting permissions for installed programs and using "Run as..." to install programs or run programs.

                      Re: I can't convert anything

                      I have a limited account because I'm a disaster.
My brother gave me once his password to enter on his Administrator account. I was going to install Msn 7 but I also liked the idea of the Msn plus and i also wanted the plug in to make handwritings. I searched and installed it but I don't know why but, then, when I open Internet a blue bar appear and some pop ups too, things that are absolutely strange of Google and I couldn't uninstalled it. That's why I have a limited account.
I think I have to ask my brother for installing Firefox. I have read really great things about it.
Thank you very much for the advices

You need to setup windows so the music converter can write to C:\converted music c:\program files\

                          and the registry.
