I have downloaded the WMA and wave codecs and keep getting that CAN`T OPEN CODEC message like others have posted on here. I even downloaded the newest version of DB Poweramp 11. I can do it in mp3 but I want to use wma to see if I can do it in less space than mp3. I can`t try wma 9.1 because I don`t have WindowsXP

Re: can`t convert cd music to wave using wma v1
Still no luck after trying the dmc beta download. I`m using the codecs for windiws media player 9 (don`t have WindowsXP for 9.1) and have the wave codec. I have the mp3 codec and it worked for creating wavs, but I want to try it in wma form where it says wma v1 and wma v2 on the drop down menu of the wave converter. I also forgot to mention that the copy protect boxes in the windows media player ARE un-checked.Last edited by swampwire; July 23, 2005, 03:04 PM.Comment

Re: can`t convert cd music to wave using wma v1
I`m trying out the wav format to create one of those websites with wav music files. Here`s one for example which uses space consuming MPEG LAYER-3 http://skinnyshideaway.com/wavs/index.html If I can do it using wma, it might cut it down smaller and still sound just as good.Last edited by swampwire; July 23, 2005, 04:45 PM.Comment

Unless you need the files to have the wav extension, you should use a conversion to wma rather than one to compressed wav as windows media of any kind.Comment
