    new system, re-install question?

I have a new PC and can't remember the sequence (if any) to install the db
programs. I have them all (registered versions), converter, player, writer, power
    pack, some skins and codex's.

I also have all of the above backed-up to an external drive but they cannot be
just copied over to an HD and expected to run correctly.

Is there a correct sequence to install? What is it, please.

    thank you,
    savagcl

One more item - a file called dBKeyControl.dll will not let me delete it. Is there
a way to delete this file?

    again, thanks,

      Re: new system, re-install question?

Install dMC r11 registered, then the CD Writer, dAP, then the latest dMC beta and your skins and other codecs.

As for deleting that file, are any dBpowerAMP programs running? Try deleting it in safe mode, mabye?

That dll is for the audioplayer, restart windows (with dap set to not autostart).

Start >> Programs >> dBpowerAMP >> Configuration >> Install Options
Uncheck "Load dAP when windows Starts"

              Re: new system, re-install question?

              OK, did all that.
seems ok except the power pack is showing as not registered.
how do i get it to show as registered?

Oops, when i open the player the first time, its OK but if i close it and then
re-open it, it gets minimized to the task bar and clicking it does no good at all.
It appears to flash (in the taskbar) something but stays minimized????
I have dB programs setup as a desktop folder with shortcutsto all dB
              programs.

              thanks for the help, guys,

Did you install your registered version of dMC? Try reinstalling your registered version overtop of everything else.

If dAP stays minimized in the task bark, try to right click it and use restore or maximize if the options are available.

                    LtData \ ChristinaS,

                    LtData,
Got the power pack and mp3 showing as registered. Not the CD-Writer tho.

                    ChristinaS,
A right click - Only thing that shows is the "Minimize" and "Close" selection.

Sorry about being late, been busy setting this creature up the way i want it.

If you don't have a shortcut for dAP, make one and place it on the desktop.

Rightclick the shortcut icon for dAP, select properties and set it to run in a normal window.

                      It might help.

                        Re: new system, re-install question?

                        Christina,

It is set to normal window.
I tried setting it to maximize but it still shows as minimized (task bar). I
clicked on it and selected restore but it still stayed minimized.

                        2 questions:
                        1. Is this config the latest?
                        Version Information:
                        dBpowerAMP Music Converter.....Release 10 Beta 3
                        Power Pack & Mp3 License.........[Registered: Yes]
                        dBpowerAMP Audio Player..........Release 3 Beta 6
dBpower AMP CD Writer.............Release 1.1 "easy way to burn audio cds'
                        Sveta Portable Audio.................Not installed

                        2. Shouldnt the CDWriter also say registered?

                        Thanks, Christina,

Oh, I think you should get the latest dMC from the beta section, this is now release 11.5 . http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?t=6740

Mine says dCW is registered - not sure if it said that in the earlier versions.
