mp3 is for music and mp4 is for movies but is it possible to encode mp4 as a regular music file (no video attached, pure music)?

Possibly, but not with any software from this site. If it was possible then only a handful of players would be able to play the files.

The closest to mp4 you can get is AAC (Advanced Audio Compression).Comment
