help! CODEC could not be loaded?

whenever i try to rip music from a cd using WMA pro v9.1 at 24bit/96khz 5.1 CBR, the following error message appear:

The CODEC required to compress 'C:\Documents and Settings\My Documents\John Williams - Finding Camp Jurassic.wma' could not be opened.

however when i change the settings to WMA pro v9.1 at 24bit/96khz 2 channel CBR it works. i use 1-pass for both, is the error related to the number of channels? my computer's audio settings are configured as 5.1 surround speakers though i only have a 2.1 speaker system.

    please help me. thanks.

Why are you trying to rip a CD to 5.1? The CD itself is only stereo. I'm not sure if dMC can up-mix the audio to the other channels or not.
