dbpower AMP hanging up - wicked bad!

OK, I am having some problems with these pesky .m4a files. I have converted a number of them already, but (and maybe this is just a bad egg I have here...) I have one file that won't convert. I have run it through dbpower AMP a few times. Each time, the program hangs up at 0% (for as long as 2 hours!). When I try to hit "Cancel" or the "X", I then hit "Yes" (under "Cancel Conversion?"). dbpower AMP keeps running. I eventually have to do a CTRL-ALT-DEL to stop it.

    Any suggestions, mates?

    One other note...

When I go to CTRL-ALT-DEL to stop dbpower AMP, I notice my CPU Usage is at 100% - not good.

    One other note...

dbpower AMP is the only program running (ouch!).

You can useTask manager to stop the process running, no need fo rctrl+alt+del - though you get the same result.

Your file is probably protected, so it cannot be converted by dMC.

Are you able to play it and if so in what player?

If it turns out you can only play the file in iTunes, you may want to try the following test if the file appears to play like it is unprotected(just to make sure the file is actually unprotected).

        1) Run iTunes and select the Advanced menu at the top.
        2) From said menu select the "Deauthorize Computer" option.
        3) In the first prompt make sure "Deauthorize this computer for Music Store Account" is selected. Click Ok.
        4) Give iTunes your Apple ID and password and click Ok. This will deauthorize your computer for playing content that has your Apple ID contained within it.
        5) Try to play the file again. If the file is acutally still protected then you should get a message about said protection and you should be asked if you want to authorize the computer so you can play the file in iTunes.

But all those steps are just in case you can play it in iTunes only.

Or copy the file over to another computer and try playing it there.... That should be pretty conclusive I think.

            If it's protection,
            use Jhymn (http://hymn-project.org/jhymndoc/#downloads)
or use Auxiliary Input, my favorite bit of advice for copyprotected music issues.
