    Who's the expert anyway?

    Hey guys!

I'm brand spanking new here and I know this must sound like a dumb question but.. who do we contact if answers to questions posted aren't answered?

I've posted what I thought would be a fairly simple question under the MPEG Layer-3 thread. That is.. why does installation of the dBpoweramp conversion program allow some users to have the MPEG LAYER-3 wav codec for some and not for others?

I got one response for which I am grateful but wasn't too useful. Guess what I'm asking is.. where do I go from here to get a definitive answer? Is there an e-mail address for whoever authored the program?

    Thanks!

Spoon is the Author of all dmc products here. however sometimes we don't always know the answer.

If the problem is still existing by all means just post another reminder in your thread that the problem is still there.

unfortuantley I don't have a solution as yet, but as others read the thread hopefully some more solutions will be posted.

I think the answer lies in the Windows ACM codec which may
      or may not be installed.

The WAV converter allows the use of ACM MP3 codecs and if
these are not installed on a particular machine you will not
find them in the dbpoweramp WAV converter.

It would have to be a missing ACM codec on your friend's computer.

You shouldn't really use ACM codecs. (especially the MP3 one since it is so old) They require your friends or people you share with to have that codec installed so they can play your files. They are also slower & have poorer sound quality (in the MP3 one's case). Use MP3 (Lame).

I must have missed your first post

edit: Whoops, just found it, now I know your reason.
