Mp3 files only mono

I tried to record some music over the line-in input with the Auxiliary Input plugin to dMC (release 9a). Everything works allright, but when I play the file (with Windows Media player) it appears to be only in mono (although the file info says stereo). Any suggestions?

Did you use line-in or the microphone input? Microphone inputs are always mono.

I have actually a combined line-in/microphone input, but I noticed now that I did not disable the microphone in the volume control. After doing this, the recording is now in Stereo. The volume level is quite low however even though I set the recording level to maximum, but I reckon there is little I can do about this since the ouput power of my walkman must be quite low.
