    Problem with PC shuting down

    Hi

When converting a batch of 320 kbps mp3's (45 min long) to 64 kbps my PC shuts down after some files and a half. No error messages or anything. Using windows XP.

    Whats wrong?

Your PC may be overheating. Try taking the side cover off of your computer and placing a box fan next to the opening on high. If it still crashes, move the box fan and place your finger on the CPU heatsink. If you are nearly burned, your computer is overheating and you need a new heatsink.
If it does not crash but you are still nearly burned, you probably still need to get a new CPU heatsink, but the problem may just be the airflow in your case.

      Thanks.

Is there anything else that could cause the problem? Something I could try fixing without having to bye a box fan first? (I's not my PC)

Try test converting all of these mp3 files and see if it still crashes. If it does, one of the mp3 files is causing the trouble. To test convert, choose as the format to convert to "Test Conversion (no write)". This makes sure dMC can decode your source files.
