Only converts 1 second of the file

hello, i have been trying for HOURS to convert my real audio files of a series called 'Blue Jam' into mp3 or wave format. i've downloaded real alternative. with the the directshow splitter thing. i've downloaded dMC. i've donwloaded the real audio codec. i've added .ra .rm etc... to the configuration file, one on each line, then closed and re-opened the configuration file. when i try to convert, no error message appears. but the mp3 file that appears is only 1 second long. (it's supposed to be 25 minutes).

anyone got any ideas?

Try playing in windows media player, if the directshow filter is working that should play it.

nope, doesn't work. or rather, it plays the 1 second, but thats it. the filesize of the mp3 created is only 53kb, so it definetely hasnt converted right. by the way now, although i havnt deleted anything or changed anything, it says 'audio file corrupt' when trying to convert it. says the codec for .rm hasnt been installed.
but i downloaded it and added it to the configuration and everything.

Does your file play in real Player or Real Alternative? if it doesn't then it is a corrupted file to start with.

yes it works perfectly on both real alternative and real player.

When you installed RealAlternative, did you tell it you wanted to install the DirectShow filter?

Did you do the other steps as indicated in the documentation? dMC Configuration > add the extensions .ra and .rm to the directshow text file > save and reboot?

Do you see DirectSHow in dMC Configuration under decoding codecs?

Have you attempted to play or convert some other real media files?

Are you saying that you have both Realplayer and RealAlternative installed?
