unable to convert from wav to mp3 and v v

I am not able to convert at all I got a window asking me to register.I tought this was a free program.

You don't read the warnings?

You need a registered (paid up) version of the program in order to encode to mp3 since this now requires a license. This is imposed by the patent holders, not by Spoon.

The program dBpowerAMP Music Converter is free, however the use of the mp3 encoding codec is not. All other codecs are available to you to use for free.
