IDTag may be unreadable with non-English filename of MP3

I'm using Traditional Chinese Windows 2000 and have just installed R11 of dbPowerAMP Music Converter. However, I found that when I move the mouse to an MP3 with Chinese filename, the tooltip window will show strange characters in IDTags (Title, Artist, Album, etc.). When I do the same thing with an MP3 with English filename only, the tooltip window shows Chinese characters correctly. Although there is an option in dbPowerAMP for showing UTF-8 characters in IDTag, it does not solve this problem whatever I enabled or disabled this option.

I have heard that R9 of this software does not have this problem, so I uninstall R11 and install R9, and the Chinese characters can be shown correctly with any filenames of MP3 (Chinese and English).

This seems to be a bug in this release of the software. Please fix it.

    Thank you.

dMC r11 supports the reading of Unicode characters in tags. Is it Traditional Chinese or Simplified? Do you have the corresponding fonts installed? See the discussion here for more info: http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthre...hlight=unicode

Edit: missed the part about unicode being in the filename. This won't be supported until release 12, as Spoon noted below.

Not if unicode is in the filename, that is planned for R12

Woops, missed the part about the file name containing unicode characters. My bad.
